Geographical Coverage

Hope for the Elderly Uganda is headquartered in Amukurat Village, Kadie Parish, Otuboi Sub-county, Kalaki District, in Eastern Uganda. Our initial focus is on communities within Kalaki District and neighboring areas in Eastern Uganda, where elderly persons face significant socio-economic and health challenges.

We prioritize rural and semi-urban areas with high levels of poverty, limited healthcare facilities, and minimal formal support structures for elderly persons. Over time, the organization aims to scale its operations to other regions of Uganda based on needs assessments and available resources.

Current Focus Areas

  • Kalaki District (primary operational base)
  • Neighboring districts in Eastern Uganda such as Kaberamaido, Soroti, and Kumi

Planned Expansion

As resources grow, we intend to extend our programs to other underserved districts in:

  • Northern Uganda — to support post-conflict communities with high numbers of elderly-headed households.
  • Western Uganda — to reach elderly populations in remote rural areas.
  • Central Uganda — focusing on peri-urban communities where elderly persons are marginalized and overlooked.

Through strategic partnerships, community involvement, and evidence-based interventions, Hope for the Elderly Uganda seeks to ensure that elderly persons across Uganda can access dignified care, protection, and empowerment opportunities.
